Randall’s is a listed building in Uxbridge. The department store has
an art deco aspect that makes it stand out from its surroundings. It was purchased by property developer Inland Homes last year. Poster printing within Hayes could be used to promote awareness of the consultation process among local residents. Local shopkeeper Scott Balcony, who is the owner at Balcony Shirts, told Get West London:
"I think it would be a real shame if the Randall's building wasn't a shop of some kind. It would be nice to see it returned to its former glory – a few flats could help pay for it, but it would be tragic if it was all flats.”
It has been reported that the consultation process is of some importance to Inland Homes. This is because the organisation would like feedback from local people prior to taking its ideas to the local authority. Ultimately, a planning application will have to be made so that Hillingdon Council can make a judgement on the scheme.
Inland Homes revealed that it does want to leave Randall’s looking a bit like its current self. Businesspeople and local citizens will be given at least two opportunities to give their feedback to the designers of the Plans. These meetings will happen at a church in Windsor Street.
