Despite the position of Hillingdon Council, the vision for a garden city within West London has its backers. Ealing Council and the London Society have come together to support the redevelopment of the land in question. If the policy does eventually get the green light, then Brochures in Hayes could be used to showcase the properties.
A report produced by the London Society during 2015 advocated building on the airfield and said:
“If other locations were acceptable, Northolt airport could be released to deliver an entirely new garden city within London, with a potential capacity in excess of 40,000 new homes and 65,000 jobs.”
The appeal of building on Northolt is related to its status as a brownfield site. The attractiveness of the idea is only increased by the limits which the location possesses when looked at from an aviation perspective. The constraints on aviation in the area might impact on the way the Ministry of Defence looks at the potential project.
However, the uncertainty is likely to continue for some time. This is in part because the military may elect to intensify its work at the site if alternative options are not deemed to be satisfactory. Another concern is that building a large number of homes would put pressure on local services. Hillingdon Council is anxious about the demand for GPs and school places.Get a Free Quote for Brochures
