Comic theatre coming to Hayes

A Hayes theatre is set to host a critically acclaimed comedy production later this year.

Fans of comedy and theatre in Hayes will soon get a chance to see “Teechers Leavers 22” when it arrives on stage in the area this coming March. The high-energy show features a diverse assortment of hopeless pupils and terrifying teachers through the eyes of three students of Year 11, Hobby, Gail and Salty.

The play is set at a struggling academy in Whitewall when a new drama teacher, Miss Nixon, arrives to shake things up. The comedy about education is the brainchild of John Godber and will be performed live on stage at the Beck Theatre.

From concert halls and clubs to theatres and playhouses, local venues hosting stage productions often look to experts in flyer printing to create colourful leaflets they can distribute to fill the house.

The latest edition of the production which was updated for 2022 has received a warm reception from the press. The Guardian newspaper commented:

“The revised version is better than the original - it’s less cosy, less anecdotal and offers a more courageous polemic.”

Teechers Leavers 22 will be on stage at the Beck Theatre on Grange Road in Hayes on Wednesday, March 1. The show will start at 7.30 pm and is suitable for those aged 11 and over.
