The Battle of Britain Bunker visitor centre in Uxbridge has already got a local award for being an excellent Public Service Building. The centre received investment of about £6 million for development and the quality of its design has attracted positive feedback. Print shops in Hayes can be useful within the heritage sector.
Back in 2016, Hillingdon Council took control of the bunker from the Ministry of Defence. The local authority spent £1 million of government funds on repairs and refurbishment. This was before it allocated £6 million for the creation of the innovative visitor centre. Councillor Ray Puddifoot, who leads the council, stated:
“The Battle of Britain Bunker Exhibition and Visitor Centre is an amazing building in both design and content, and it has been a real achievement to see it open in just two years after taking over responsibility for it from the Ministry of Defence. We wanted to ensure this national heritage site remains open for generations to come to visit and learn about the bunker’s pivotal role in the Second World War.”
According to Councillor Puddifoot, lots of favourable comments have been made in relation to the visitor centre. He thinks that tourists and residents are genuinely appreciative of the building.Get a Free Quote for Print
