South Birmingham welcomes folk-rock punk band

Martin Stephenson & The Daintees have arranged a gig in South Birmingham that will take place towards the end of November.

Influenced by The Cure and Brighton's music scene, Martin started busking at the age of 15. He was to spend three years in a number of Northeast bands, playing the guitar, experimenting with different genres and developing his song writing skills.

He then formed The Daintees, who were later signed up by Kitchenware Records. They toured with Aztec Camera and the Bluebells and, in 1986, featured on John Martyn's Piece by Piece tour.

The Daintees delivered four albums between 1986 and 1992, which were ‘Boat to Bolivia’, ‘Gladsome Humour and Blue’, ‘Salutation Road’ and ‘The Boys Heart’. These included tracks such as ‘Rain’, ‘There Comes A Time’, ‘Left Us To Burn’ and ‘We Can Roll’.

The band broke up in 1992, with Martin retreating to the Scottish Highlands. 2008 saw the band reform, and he now divides his time between various solo work, the band's studio albums such as 2012's ‘California Star’ and their UK tours.

Tickets cost £22, inclusive of a booking fee. Promotional Products can be an effective way of publicising a forthcoming concert or musical event.
