John Smith, the Devonian singer-songwriter, is due to play a gig in South Birmingham towards the end of September.
This distinctive guitarist, recognised for his intimate songs and soothing gravel voice, is known to be technically adventurous and has supported the likes of John Martyn.
Having released his debut album back in 2007, Smith has toured heavily over the last 15 years, amassing over 40 million Spotify streams. The sometime session musician previously played the guitar for a wide range of artists, including David Gray, Joan Baez and Tom Jones.
In the aftermath of an exceptionally difficult 2020, facing both rapidly changing career circumstances and tour cancellations, he has now released his sixth studio album entitled "The Fray", and is touring it later this year.
These latest sounds offer a positive perspective, pointing the way forward out of times of crisis. His vulnerability is evident to listeners, but the ever-present optimism strikes a chord, nowhere more so than in the leading title track with the words "holding onto hope".
Tickets cost £17.50 inclusive of the booking fee. Print shops can prove to be a valuable resource for anyone organising a local musical or theatrical event of this nature.
John Smith's gig will take place between 7:30 pm and 11:00 pm on Wednesday, September 22 at The Hare and Hounds, South Birmingham.
