South Birmingham is on radar of folk duo

The American folk twosome Madison Violet is set to play a gig in South Birmingham at the beginning of June.

They consist of Canadians Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac. Their songwriting combines natural folk storytelling and tight harmonies with Americana rhythms and pop lines. Madison Violet has been entertaining people and winning the plaudits of critics now for twenty years.

The duo first got together in 1999 as a result of an unplanned meeting in a Toronto restaurant, only to find out their fathers were Cape Breton high school classmates. Nine albums later and their most recent 2019 release, the critically praised Everything's Shifting, was inspired by a combination of loss and love.

The multi-instrumentalists have a long list of awards to their credit. These include a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Vocal Group Album, the John Lennon Songwriting Grand Prize and a Juno nomination.

Madison Violet's songs have also made MOJO magazine's Top 10 playlist with Germany's WDP, naming them as one of the Best Bands of All Time. A remix of These Ships, their single in 2014, was released on Ultra Records gaining over 1.2 million hits on Spotify.

Tickets cost £15.40 inclusive of a booking fee. Banner printing is a useful way of promoting a forthcoming musical concert or event.
