Thousand Yard Stare (TYS) are on a mini-tour and have confirmed a gig in South Birmingham towards the end of October.
The band got together in 1988 in Slough and soon acquired a local fan base which led in 1990 to the release of their initial EP, Weatherwatching. The NME identified the group as the “brightest hope for the future” noted for their powerful live sets.
In June 1991, TYS's Keepsake EP topped both NME's and Melody Makers Indie Charts and they signed to Polydor. The single Comeuppance made No.37 on the UK Chart just prior to their debut album Hands On coming out
The band toured the US with the Soup Dragons and even played the legendary Glastonbury Festival. They disbanded in 1993 in the wake of Mappamundi, their second album, but eventually reconciled in 2015, delivering a sell-out one-off show. More shows and festival dates ensued with original songs emerging as evidenced in 2016’s Live at Electric Studios.
Two EPs, StarGrazing and DeepDreaming came out in May 2017, which included eight new tracks. TYS also released a new album, The Panglossian Momentum, their first in 27 years.
Tickets cost £16.50 inclusive of a booking fee. When putting together a musical event such as a concert, Stationery printers can be a great piece of equipment for publicising the show.
Thousand Year Stare's gig has a starting of 7pm on Friday, October 21 at The Hare and Hounds, South Birmingham.
