Americana singer Edwina Hayes is due to perform a one-off gig in South Birmingham early in January.
The singer/songwriter, a native of Lancashire, is a regular on the London acoustic scene. She has appeared at such well-known venues as The 12 Bar Club and Ronnie Scott's, building a considerable reputation as a consequence.
Her naturalistic songs, charming on-stage performances and distinctive voice place her at the heart of folk-Americana, and explain why she has been described by legend of the genre Nanci Griffith as "the Sweetest Voice in England".
"Pour Me A Drink", the title track off her album, was recently covered by the Griffith. Indeed, her own cover version of "Feels Like Home" by Randy Newman, which can be heard in the movie "My Sister's Keeper" starring Cameron Diaz, has had more than eight million hits on YouTube.
In addition to Griffith, Hayes has toured with names like Van Morrison, Jools Holland, Daniel Bedingfield and Louden Wainwright, and regularly takes to the stage in Nashville, Tennessee.
Tickets cost between £22 and £51.36 inclusive of a booking fee. This event is COVID-19 compliant, as it is an indoor/outdoor gig and the rule of six applies. Banner printing can be a useful way of publicising popular activities such as this.
The Edwina Hayes concert has a starting time of 7:45 pm on Friday, January 1 at The Kitchen Garden Cafe, South Birmingham.
