Reconstruction of Northfield Manor House planned

The rebuilding of Northfield Manor House (NMH) is being proposed in the aftermath of an arson incident.

NMH was damaged by fire back in 2014. The building once housed members of the famous Cadbury family. Plans have been made to rebuild the manor house. New residential accommodation is to feature in the proposals. If the vision gets approval, then printing services in South Birmingham may be used for the purpose of advertising the fresh properties.

The current owner of NMH is the University of Birmingham. This institution stopped using the building as a residence for students back in 2007. The remaining structures are not protected by the law. In a statement, a representative of the university declared:

“The university has maintained its commitment to mirroring the external appearance of the Manor House which was bought from the Cadbury family and used as a student residence until 2007 and rejected the option to rebuild in a more modern style.”

The proposed developer of the site has some ideas to please the inhabitants of the local area. These Plans include the spending of almost £100,000 on playground improvements. In addition, the developer aspires to invest in affordable housing. The vision is that there will be accommodation at reasonable cost delivered on and off the site. Badgers in the vicinity are to be relocated to a new artificial habitat.
