Indie rock band to appear at South Birmingham venue

The original Dorset rockers Electrasy are set to embark on their 'To The Other Side' tour, and are due to play a gig in South Birmingham in mid-July.

The band got together in 1994 as part of the first wave of the Britpop era.

They consist of Alisdair McKinnell on vocals, Steve Atkins and Nigel Nisbet on guitars, Alex Meadows on bass, with drummer Paul Pridmore.

The band had a UK chart hit with the single 'Morning Afterglow', which achieved a number 19 position in 1998. They have released a total of three albums: 'Beautiful Insane' (1998), 'In Here We Fall' (2000) and 'Wired for Dreaming' (2008).

Electrasy played more than 180 gigs alone in 1998. Their live appearances previously included notable performances on Channel 4's 'TFI Friday', not to mention the popular sunset slot at 1999's Glastonbury Festival.

Tours of the USA and acting as support for the Fun Lovin’ Criminals also feature on their CV. After a slightly turbulent history, involving disputes with record labels, they are now eager to play UK venues once again.

Tickets cost £10 in advance and £12 on the door. Promotional Products can be a useful tool for those engaged in the publicity of a future concert or musical event.

Electrasy's gig has a starting time of 7.00 pm on Saturday, 13 July at Hare and Hounds, South Birmingham.
