Hanbury county show judged to be a success

The 2014 county show in Hanbury was attended by thousands of people and the weather proved satisfactory in the end.

Clare Foster, who helped to organise the recent event, has said:

“There was just so much to see and do, with the Kangaroo Kid, the quad bike rider who jumped over a Land Rover and a Jaguar and was an extremely popular attraction, to the wonderful display of heavy horses with their brass harnesses.”

The weather was damp first thing, but by the middle of the morning it had improved considerably. The clouds eventually dispersed and then sunshine helped those who attended to have a good time.

Getting the atmosphere right is essential for any event of this nature. It may well be that the organisers opt to use banner printing in South Birmingham next year.

The needs of different age groups were catered for, and there were shows of livestock and events in an arena. All the various activities around the village contributed to what has become a large one-day show.

The village of Hanbury is located in close proximity to Droitwich Spa. Attendance levels at the Hanbury event have been estimated by organisers as relatively high, although the precise figures were not immediately made available because of practical issues. The event was first held back in 1947.
