Production of some chocolate bars had been transferred to Poland to cut costs for the owner. The move back to Bournville might lead to an increase in demand for Stationery printing within south Birmingham. Four fresh lines will get the job done for Mondelēz International.
Glenn Caton, an executive for the north European arm of Mondelēz International, stated:
"This £75 million investment we've made means our Bournville factory can now favourably compete against manufacturing facilities in other European markets and retain the majority of Dairy Milk and chocolate production right here in the UK.”
Caton said that the costs associated with making chocolate in the Bournville factory had been high prior to the new investment. He asserted that the British-made product had been significantly less competitive than German chocolate. However, spending on research and development and manufacturing processes has upgraded the efficiency of the famous British factory.
The Bournville operation was established back in 1879 when Richard and George Cadbury opted to move their workers away from the middle of Birmingham.
Nowadays, Bournville houses research, meaning that every single Cadbury product is created on the premises. Over 20 manufacturing lines on the site ensure that it is not only the innovation kitchen which is kept busy.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
