Paul Hyde, the current head teacher of the Academy, has said:
“I believe the alumni association presents a fantastic opportunity to share further the successes that you have achieved, as well as showing support for the academy today.”
Hyde has recognised that the alumni initiative may have potential. He has suggested that better community links could flow from the development of the networks in question.
Generating interest in the alumni association is likely to be of considerable importance in the future. It would not be surprising if the individuals in charge of the group used brochure printers near south Birmingham to provide material for events.
So far, the alumni project has been in part driven forward by Helen Black, who is involved with the promotion and coordination of enterprise education. It seems that she would appreciate some input from former pupils to help her make further progress with the scheme.
Black has made it clear that the rationale behind the alumni idea is not just about keeping in contact with friends from school. She has suggested that it will give people the opportunity to influence the education that is being delivered in the current era. Former pupils of various schools have been given the right to participate in the discussions.
