Debbie Olive is employed by UK Power Networks, which is located on Darkes Lane in Potters Bar, and she asked other people working there to donate toys for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
The hospital looked after her friend’s son when he suffered serious head injuries after being involved in a car accident, and it was the quality of treatment he got that saved his life.
Olive explained:
“I went to visit him at Great Ormond Street and saw all the other children there and I cried all the way home.
“I just wanted to be able to help and give something back. They saved his life.”
These kinds of charitable efforts frequently make use of printing services in Potters Bar and similar places, as this can help to raise awareness among people living there.
The collection of toys was organised by the head of engagement and communications for UK Power Networks, Connie Dickie, and she stated that the company was eager to chip in and help with the campaign.
She went on to add that the response from those working for the company had been tremendous, with people purchasing new toys specifically for donation.
