Parkfield Park in Potters Bar, which is a popular spot with local dog walkers, recently became home to a number of printed Posters explaining that a spate of pet thefts had taken place in the park. The Posters also warned walkers to ensure their dogs were within sight at all times. The Posters have been produced to look professional, although it is not clear whether the Posters were homemade or whether they were created by a company offering poster printing in Potters Bar.
Some residents were left baffled as to why anyone would want to steal a pet belonging to someone else. Eddie Bennett, a local resident and dog walker, said:
“You’re telling me you take your dog out for a walk and come home without it because it got nicked, it just sounds strange to me.”
A spokesperson for the Hertfordshire Constabulary commented on the matter, saying that there had been no recorded reports of pet theft in Parkfield Park. However, contradictory information came from the local council, when a spokesperson speaking on behalf of Hertsmere Borough Council said that the person working as the local dog warden had got wind of the issue, and had heard about instances of pet theft in the area.
Whether the Posters contain truth or not, it is considered sensible to keep a close eye on dogs when out walking them. The mystery continues.Get a Free Quote for Posters
