This process required Robert Poth, 17, to undergo tests of his overall fitness, conditioning and strength, as well as of his abilities on snow, at the Chill Factore slope.
Having passed everything with flying colours, Poth will now have the chance to represent his country in both indoor and dry races throughout the UK, before heading to Italy for the Alpine Ski Championships in February 2016.
The English squads for this sport are run by Snowsport England and represent a big step forward for those young people who aim to ski for the UK in major events like the Winter Olympics.
Tim Fawke, the chief executive of Snowsport England, stated that:
“The enthusiasm and dedication from our athletes was really impressive. We have got some promising talent in all of our squads."
Family and friends of Poth who are keen to show their support for him during his competitive events in the upcoming months, will be able to turn to printing services offering banner printing in Potters Bar to provide them with Banners showing their allegiance.
Poth uses The Snow Centre, which can be found in Hemel Hempstead, as his main training base, but has also received some coaching overseas.Get a Free Quote for Banners
