Potters Bar nursery closure avoided

A popular nursery in Potters Bar has been saved thanks to the generous donations and fundraising efforts of the local community.

The playgroup at Potters Bar United Reform Church was under threat of closure as it struggled to meet escalating bills and increasing running costs. However, thanks to the fundraising efforts of parents who have placed their children at the nursery, the organisation is now free to run its service without financial worries.

The nursery released a statement about the news that it had been saved from closure, saying:

“We are delighted to be able to announce that Potters Bar URC Nursery is to stay open, continuing the long tradition we have of offering superb early years care to families in Potters Bar. The community here at Potters Bar URC and our nursery has succeeded in finding ways to make our nursery financially viable again.”

One of the parents of two children that attend the nursery said:

“The care and individual attention afforded each child is really fantastic. We are so relieved that the nursery is to remain open after all.”

Community spirit in Potters Bar has helped the nursery pull through, and this, combined with well-publicised fund-raising schemes and events, has helped to raise the money that was needed to keep the doors open to local children.

In the past, many individuals and organisations have turned to printing companies in Potters Bar to help them create the promotional materials needed to make their fundraising message heard, using methods like leaflet and poster printing.
