The 80s/90s pop band Simply Red, with special guest Lisa Stansfield, are due to play a show near Potters Bar early in August.
Formed by Mick Hucknall in Manchester in 1985 they have had both huge success and longevity. This began with their debut single Money’s Too Tight To Mention and Picture Book their BRIT Award-nominated album. The first of many for the 13 times nominees and three times BRIT Award winners.
There ensued a decade of worldwide hits and Simply Red were three times Grammy Award nominees. Presenting high-quality live shows, Mick Hucknall has a reputation as one of contemporary music's leading vocalists.
In total, they have sold over 60 million albums globally, had five UK number one hit albums and had more than a billion YouTube views. Released in November 2019, their latest ‘Blue-Eyed Soul’ album went straight into the UK charts at number six.
Lisa Stansfield is a three-time BRIT Award winner and a two-time Grammy nominee. With a host of hits worldwide including the number one All Around The World, selling in excess of 20 million albums.
