Potters Bar leisure centre receives investment

A leisure centre in Potters Bar is moving forward because of a major investment.

The leisure centre will benefit from a major refurbishment as a result of the investment. Work has already begun on the upgrade, which will see improvements made to the studios, spa and gym. A mezzanine floor is going to be installed. Graphic design can be useful when transformations are in progress.

Caroline Clapper, a councillor with some responsibility for health, culture and leisure, told the Barnet & Potters Bar Times:

“We at Hertsmere are committed to providing facilities that encourage our residents to pursue a healthy lifestyle and this fantastic refurbishment programme at Furzefield and Bushey Grove will enable us to achieve that goal.”

It appears that Furzefield Leisure Centre, which is located in Potters Bar, is sharing £2 million investment with the Bushey Grove Leisure Centre in Bushey. New types of training will be enabled by the introduction of new equipment.

Ideally, the redevelopment of Bushey Grove will be completed by May 2019. It is predicted that the fresh facilities at Furzefield will be accessible within a month of that date. Meanwhile, most of the existing amenities at Furzefield can remain open to the public while the work continues. Nonetheless, it is not possible to keep the health suite in operation throughout the process.
