The popular musical 'Sister Act', presented by ELODS, will give a series of performances in Potters Bar in mid-October.
It is the tale of a disco Queen Delores Van Cartier, who after witnessing a murder, is put into a protection scheme. The location chosen turns out to be the last place that someone looking for her would suspect, namely a convent.
Once there, she has difficulties adapting to the strict convent rules, not to mention dealing with the rather orthodox Mother Superior, but we soon learn that her abundance of energy and love of music is impossible to contain.
Delores, with her singing, becomes an inspiration for the choir, bringing life back into the religious community. Unfortunately, her cover is blown and a gang of murders is now close at hand. Can the sisterhood save her from the inevitable?
The show has uplifting gospel music and much dancing, along with an emotive story, 'Sister Act' represents a tribute to the power of song as well as the significance of friendship.
ELODS is an amateur company located in Winchmore Hill that presents musicals, both new and old. Graphic design plays an important role in the development of any stage or theatrical production.
Ticket prices begin at £17.00 up to £23.00. 'Sister Act' will take place between Tuesday 15th and Saturday 19th October at Wyllyotts Theatre, Potters Bar.
