Barnet Medieval Festival, organised by the events committee, is due to be held in the Potters Bar area towards the end of September.
This is London's sole medieval festival and involves a re-enactment of the Battle of Barnet, 1471. More than 350 people will be coming for the weekend to establish a living and working history camp and to participate in the battle, archery and gunnery displays.
The Earl of Warwick and Edward IV were the respective military commanders in the battle. The re-enactment will see both sides actively seeking to recruit supporters for either the Yorkist or Lancastrian cause. There will also be a medieval market consisting of at least 25 traders, period song and dance, and a children's fun zone. The food stalls and refreshment outlets present are sure to include a number of beer tents. Logo Design can make an immediate visual impact when it comes to branding such events.
Barnet Medieval Festival Committee is a recognised charity promoting public education in the history of medieval times. It took over the organisational role from the Battle of Barnet Partnership, which undertook the project thanks to Heritage Lottery funding.
The festival site is free and open to all with its full programme of activities.
Barnet Medieval Festival is due to take place between 10:30am and 5pm on both Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September at Barnet Elizabethans Rugby Football Club, Potters Bar.
