Potters Bar Carnival is this Sunday

The organisers of Sunday's Potters Bar Carnival are promising wall-to-wall fun and activities for all the family, as the final banner printing runs were most likely all coming together.

The day will kick-off at 1pm with a parade of floats from Mount Grace Road. There is a veritable galaxy of floats on show, all being accompanied on their route by singers, dancers and people just generally having fun.

After leaving Mount Grace Rd, the parade is set to turn onto Billy Lows Ln, then onto Darkes Ln, before arriving at the end of the route via Mutton Ln upon Elm Court Youth and Community Centre.

All of the events and activities for the day ahead will take place at the community centre and in its grounds. There will also be a number of stalls from local shops and charities hoping their poster printing attracts strong sales on the day.

Things that families can look forward to include pony rides and a giant slide. Saying that the 2014 show will be in keeping with what has gone before, the event organiser, Peter Weaver, said:

“We have a jam-packed afternoon with A602 Hot Rods and Custom cars, the ever-popular Ambassadors of Borrowash Carnival Band, Hertstoppers Cheerleaders, Revelation Majorettes, Potters Bar Judo Club and Angies Dance Academy putting on shows in the arena.”

The traditional Potters Bar Schools’ Art Exhibition will also take place.
