The new adventure musical, The Scarlet Pimpernel, presented by ELODS, will give a series of performances at Potters Bar towards the end of April.
It is set in early 1790s Paris at the height of the French revolution with the 'Guillotine' in use on a daily basis. Sir Percy Blakeney, an English aristocrat, adopts the heroic persona of the Pimpernel in order to try and save innocents.
Blakeney is assisted in this endeavour by a handful of close friends, but the revolutionary authorities are eager to arrest and unmask him. The story climaxes in a dramatic confrontation concluding with an impressive sword fight.
This show has already won awards and comes from the same composers as that of Jekyll & Hyde. The cast includes Corine Roberts as Marguerite St. Just and Nic Corden as Percy Blakeney, with Mark Newport as Music Director and Fiona Corden as overall director.
ELODS is an award-winning amateur theatre society located in Winchmore Hill, Enfield. It puts on high-end stage productions of new and popular musicals thanks to a dedicated troupe of actors and performers, well supported by volunteers.
Tickets range in price from £15 to £23. Stationery printers can be a valuable resource when it comes to producing a large concert or theatrical event.
