This society offers local people two different courses, one for those with advanced skills and a more general one, and cover both projected and printed photographs. The overall winners in the projected photograph category were Graham Coldrick, at advanced level, and Graham Adamson, at general level based on total scores after six rounds of competition.
When it came to the projected category’s best overall image, the general level winner was Graham Adamson again, while Fiona Adamson triumphed at advanced level with her picture titled Cupid’s Bow. This shot was captured while she was attending the Venice Carnival.
The successful entrants for the Print category were Bob Scarlett at advanced level and David Schwartz at general level. Those who win at the lower level will compete as advanced photographers next year.
The president of the society, Colin Strong, told the Welwyn Hatfield Times that:
“The internal club competitions have been as popular as always and, although some regular prizewinners have again won trophies, it has been rewarding to see newer members and those who have previously had limited competition success presented with cups and shields.”
