All those taking part in the event belonged to the Potters Bar Slimming World Groups, and the Race for Life activity they organised in Oakmere Park was in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Those participating ran circuits around the park’s lake, with the distance run being decided by each individual, based on their level of fitness and running experience.
The Slimming World Groups are held on Saturday, Thursday, Tuesday, and Monday each week, and Mel Lambert, Sarah Reader, and Nikki Crowhurst – the consultants for them – stated that everyone involved had thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She told a reporter from Times Series:
“It was a fabulous event and we saw participants young and old participate, with a broad range of different abilities and fitness levels.”
She went on to add that all of the members were delighted by the sum of money raised for the charity, feeling that it had shown other residents what can be achieved by community groups.
Charity fundraising events being held within the town can always choose to make use of flyer printing in Potters Bar to help increase awareness of them among locals.
Information about the Slimming World groups is available by telephone.
