Ryan Cox experienced bowel cancer during the course of last year, but the mechanic is now faced with further problems. Cox requires complex medical assistance which is not currently available on the NHS.
The partner of Cox, Lauren Foy, is leading a campaign which is intended to raise £100,000. Poster printing from Potters Bar can be used by people collecting money for good causes. Foy has told the Welwyn Hatfield Times she has already been surprised by the kindness of strangers:
“I was really taken aback. It’s nice knowing that people want to help you and give up their time.”
The event has been pencilled in for the middle of April. A local venue has offered the family its services at a discounted rate. Stallholders will be able to participate at a community centre if they are prepared to donate £25. Cakes, crafts and face painting could make the day one to remember.
The business community in the neighbourhood has stepped up to the plate. Vouchers have been made available by Brookmans Family Butchers, while Essendon Country Club has opted to provide a golfing opportunity. Meanwhile, Hartbeeps has chosen to donate free baby classes, while Northaw Riding School has elected to offer pony rides.
