Exercise classes for new mums in Potters Bar

A series of exercise classes aimed at new mums in Potters Bar is being promoted, encouraging those eligible to join the post-natal workout sessions.

The ‘Mums of Steel’ workout classes are designed to get new mothers back into shape following the birth of their baby. These classes are run by Hertsmere Leisure and Hertsmere Borough Council and are free of charge to attend. The unique thing about the classes is that babies are not only welcome; they are also integral to the workout. The instructor who runs the class is Mary McLellan. She recently commented on the Mums of Steel programme, saying:

“I feel it is important that new mothers have the opportunity to bring baby with them to exercise.

"The classes are specifically post-natal and will help to burn fat, tone up and build confidence after having a baby.

"The one common factor in the classes is a special section dedicated to toning up ‘mummy tummy’ and it seems to be a favourite part of the class for all mums.”

Classes like this are not uncommon – many local gyms use local companies offering flyer printing in Potters Bar to publicise their exercise programmes. Flyer printing is a particularly effective form of communication as it allows promoters to include details of class times, venues and contact numbers in a format that people can easily take away and keep with them for future reference.

The Potters Bar Mums of Steel class will be held in Oakmere Park every Tuesday morning from 11am for one hour. More information can be found by contacting Hertsmere Leisure directly.
