The veteran band Showaddywaddy is currently on its 50th-anniversary tour, and is due to play a gig in Potters Bar at the end of November.
The band were part of the original rock n' roll movement, and were at the height of their fame during the 1970s, frequently populating the British charts.
The show is said to be a musical journey that spans five decades of success, and began when Showaddywaddy formed in Leicester in 1973. This eight-man combo hit upon a distinctive chemistry, one that seized the attention of audiences.
The ensuing decade saw them achieve 23 Top 40 singles. These included top-five records such as: 'Under The Moon of Love,' 'You Got What It Takes”' and '3 Steps To Heaven'. Exceeding all expectations, they went on to chart success in over 30 countries around the world.
This current 100-date-plus anniversary tour is also commemorated in a one-off collector's item ‘Anthology’, encompassing their entire career. It features classic recordings and unreleased songs, as well as remixes and live performances. The band's credentials and its place in rock ‘n’ roll history are undisputed.
