The students are all studying fashion design at City of Oxford College, and the catwalk parade was a part of the annual end-of-year bash that is held within the institution. Those involved had complete responsibility for designing, making and styling the clothes that they displayed during the show, which took place at the Oxpens Road campus.
Willing models were on hand in the form of students studying dance at the college, with those on the beauty and hair courses assisting in ensuring that participants were looking their very best when they took to the catwalk.
One of the fashion design graduates exhibiting, 19-year-old Alison Brodey, told a reporter from the Oxford Times that the prospect of the show had contributed to the way she approached her designs:
“Putting on a fashion show encourages you to think about more than just the clothes. You need to think about the styling, accessories and the whole feel you are trying to create. I was really pleased with the end result.”
The organisers of events such as this one have always got the choice of using flyer printing in Oxford, if they want to promote the occasions and encourage residents to come along.
