Puppet's tale reworked in Oxford

A new version of 'Pinocchio', presented by Stuff and Nonsense Theatre, is due to be performed in Oxford at the end of August.

It is a family production that tells the story of three witty men, a grandfather, father and son who take shelter in an old, large but derelict house. One of the group proves to be Pinocchio and we learn that he has led a most exceptional life.

This adaptation incorporates all of the tale's key components, the impoverished woodcarver, the stereotypical expanding nose, and his hopes of becoming an actual boy. There is humour, great puppets, a professional cast, innovative music and distinctive staging, that should undoubtedly appeal to the entire family.

Mike Shepherd of Kneehigh Theatre's Online Archive describes it as:

'A BIG story beautifully told with wit, verve and great skill!'

'Pinocchio' is co-produced with the Theatre Royal Plymouth. It stars Tim Dalling, Daniel Rejano and Jenny Harrold. The director is Niki McCretton with music by Dom Coyote and additional musical contributions from Tim Dalling. Introducing children to the creative world Forms the mission statement of Stuff and Nonsense.

A standard ticket costs £18.00. Graphic design plays an important role in the production of a stage or theatrical show.

'Pinocchio' will take place between Friday 30th August and Sunday 1st September at The Playhouse, Oxford.
