The new mall is being proposed for Botley, near Oxford. Plans were unveiled as part of an exhibition at Seacourt Hall which is open to the public.
Over 400 people attended the exhibition in its first two hours of being open, showing a real interest in the developments. The Plans for the exhibition have been professionally printed with the help of a local printing company and Oxford residents are putting forward their thoughts on the Plans after viewing them.
Michael Day, a resident of nearby Yarnells Hill, spoke about how he felt about the idea, saying:
“It is a good idea in general. I like the concept. There needs to be a revamp and it is great that someone is now thinking about it. But we need to keep a good mix of small shops.”
Doric Properties is the company behind the new development. The Plans are being met with mixed views and Simon Hillcox, director of Doric, spoke about how the company intends to address any concerns, saying:
“We are proposing a much more vibrant townscape. But it would make sense to keep buildings with community uses together.”
As well as a range of new shops, the Botley shopping centre development would also offer a new GP surgery, housing for elderly people and a new dentist surgery, ensuring residents have everything they need in a convenient location.
