The British designer Kevin McCloud is on tour with his new show 'Home Truths' and is due to make an appearance in Oxford at the beginning of January.
This well-known writer and host of Channel 4's 'Grand Designs', a series he has presented since it was initially broadcast in April 1999, is embarking on his first live stage event. It promises to be an evening where curiosity and design meet.
McCloud will recall tales from across his television career, revealing stories from behind the camera on the iconic programme and utilising video clips. With his charm and knowledge, he takes the audience on a journey through some memorable projects, giving away secrets, and highlighting both triumphs and disasters.
The presenter explains the importance of consuming and experiencing good design while remaining environmentally friendly. Indeed, McCloud himself advocates his 'Just Enough Theory'. The focus here is on learning, so those attending should turn up prepared with their questions and dilemmas.
McCloud promises to do his best to deal with queries on the night, and provide some useful advice on realising your design aspirations.
