An event called Oxfordshire SOUP will be held for small enterprises in December.
The Oxfordshire SOUP Grants for Small Business event combines crowdfunding possibilities with a Dragons Den style approach. SOUP is an international movement allowing communities the chance to raise investment on a small scale for innovative business ideas they’ve collectively voted for.
The event is presented in a simple to follow format and all are invited to attend for a small fee and hear from up to four ambitious businesses pitching ideas. Pitchers are given the floor for four minutes, in which they can utilise their speech-making skills to convince the crowd to vote for them. The crowd can then ask a total of four questions to work out if the business idea might be a worthy investment.
The daytime event will also offer delegates from small businesses the opportunity to meet like-minded professionals and exchange Business Cards and extend their list of contacts.
Lunch will be served following the presentations and then all votes will be made and tallied up to find the winner. The winning business will take home all the door fees plus £300 donated by Oxfordshire Business Support.
The small business-focused event will run from 11 am until 1pm on Friday, December 6 at the City of Oxford College’s Activate Learning on Oxpens Road.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
