A stand-up comedian since 2006, Kumar has earned considerable respect on the comedy circuit worldwide. This includes five critically acclaimed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Kumar has also appeared on both the radio and television. After the success of a 2016 pilot, he finished two complete series of Radio 4's "Spotlight Tonight". The comedian has also presented "The News Quiz" and "News Jack", which air on BBC Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra, respectively.
A regular guest on panel shows such as BBC Two's "Mock the Week" and BBC One's "Have I Got News For You", Kumar is also credited with appearances on BBC One's "Live At The Apollo", but is perhaps best known for hosting BBC Two's "The Mash Report".
Kumar has received accolades from both the industry and fans alike, notably being a double Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee in 2015 and 2016. The Guardian has described Kumar’s performance as:
