The Greenwich Trio is due to record a new CD at a publicly open session in Oxford in mid-December.
Its members consist of Canadian cellist Heather Tuach, Slovenian violinist Lana Trotovšek, and Japanese pianist Yoko Misumi, who were hailed by Bernard Greenhouse as the "New Beaux Arts Trio”.
Originally formed in 2006, the three virtuosas subsequently won plaudits across Europe and in the UK, including the first prize in the Beethoven Society of Europe Chamber Music Competition.
The Trio has been mentored by such recognised authorities as The Amadeus Quartet, The Beaux Arts Trio, The Alban Berg Quartet, and Menahem Pressler. They are continually on the international classical circuit, performing at The Festival International de Santander, The Cheltenham Music Festival and The Rheingau Musik Festival, amongst others.
One standout venue was their 2009 debut appearance in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. They have also performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto conducted by Barry Wordsworth.
The Greenwich Trio's record releases include the Beethoven and Mendelssohn piano trios on The Meridian Records label. In 2020, they began their recording the Brahms Trios.
