Oxford finds its funny bone

Comedian Jimmy Carr is bringing his latest show, called "Terribly Funny", to Oxford at the beginning of May.

The title is to be taken literally, as the show consists of jokes about all sorts of unfortunate events that can happen to or affect people, including to ourselves and those we love. This involves challenging political correctness and exploring taboo subjects, and as Carr demonstrates, context is everything when it comes to humour and comedy.

Known for his sharp suits and deadpan delivery, Carr is perhaps most recognised for being the host of 8 out of 10 Cats, but is also a star of 10 O'Clock Live. He has gained the reputation of being "the hardest working man in comedy" having performed live stand-up on tour to two million-plus people on four continents. This success is also reflected in DVD sales of at least 1.2 million Copies.

Over the course of his career, Carr has won a Best Stand Up Live Tour, British Comedy Award, a Best Stand Up, Loaded LAFTA Award and a Perrier Award nomination.

Extra dates have been pencilled in, in case the event date needs to be moved. Promotional Pens can be an innovative way of publicising a forthcoming commercial or theatrical event.

The show’s starting time is 8:00 pm on Monday, May 10 at the New Theatre, Oxford.
