The developers responsible for this revamp, which is costing £440 million, stated that it marks the start of a countdown for the next two years, with companies set to be announced for the new-look centre.
Once it is completed, the complex will measure 800,000 sq. ft. and will feature new spaces for the general public, a terrace on the rooftop, luxury cinema, 25 cafes and restaurants and over 100 brand new shops.
Several companies had already been confirmed for the centre, including Goldsmiths, Schuh, Next, Primark, Curzon Cinemas, Michael Kors and John Lewis, but now Sticks ‘n’ Sushi and River Island have also signed up.
The UK managing director for Sticks ‘n’ Sushi, Andreas Karlsson, told the Oxford Mail that the city had been one of its favoured locations since it had opened its first UK outlets, adding:
“We’re really excited Westgate Oxford will be one of our first restaurants outside of London.
“The rooftop terrace will also have breathtaking views over the famous Oxford city skyline, making it the perfect setting.”
All of the shops that are based within the revamped centre will be able to rely on places that Print glossy Brochures and Catalogues in Oxford, to help them promote their goods and services to residents.
