Local folk band to entertain this summer

Folk-pop circuit regulars The People Versus will be making an appearance in their home city of Oxford at the beginning of July.

The band formed in 2018 and gained early recognition as part of an emerging local scene. They fuse distinctive harmonies with driving rhythms and authentic traditional storytelling.

This combination of elements and instrumentation complements the voice and presentation of Alice Edwards, lead singer. The songs also have a deep sense of longing and in particular take their inspiration from Greek mythology and Shakespeare's tales. Their sounds is often categorised as 'museum pop' which incorporates a broad spectrum of folk-rock influences and genres.

Their EP debut launch sold out at The Jericho, and now they are back with a new addition and a reworked set, warmly praised by BBC Introducing. The band is ready to take a step up to the next level by introducing itself to a much bigger and more mainstream audience.

Tickets cost £13, concessions £8 with the minimum age of entry 18 plus. It will be COVID-compliant and staggered forming part of a short three-date tour. Logo Design can make a valuable contribution to the development of a band's image and identity.

The People Versus gig will take place between 7:45pm and 9:45pm on Friday, July 9 at The North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford.
