Fantasy and magic arriving in Oxford

Oxford is set to welcome a special convention with a magic and fantasy theme.

Now in its third year, the popular convention known as ‘Thames Con’ will be held at the Oxford Town Hall at Aldates. The Victorian Grade II listed building will welcome celebrity faces from the world of television and film and provide a host of activities for visitors to enjoy.

Guided workshops and guest talks will take place at the weekend event as well as costume roleplay competitions and retro gaming sessions attendees can take part in. A wide selection of traders will also be featured at various stands around the convention selling movie memorabilia, collectable cards and toys and Books among other items. Visitors will also have an opportunity to pick up autographed prints of their favourite film and tv stars.

Enterprises selling products at UK conventions can sometime use business card printing services to create professional cards to hand out to customers with purchases to encourage repeat sales.

An event for all ages, there will be plenty of family-orientated entertainment with activities for kids, designed with this year’s theme of fantasy and magic in mind.

Thames Con will be held on Saturday, April 18 from 10am until 5pm and Sunday, April 19 between 11am and 4pm. The general admission price for the event is £12 per person.
