Blaze extinguished at print firm

A fire that threatened to destroy a Print company near Oxford was recently brought under control and extinguished by local Fire and Rescue crews.

A fire was reported in the evening at a Print company in Bicester, near Oxford, in early July. There were 11 employees in the building at the time. All members of staff were evacuated safely from the building and the fire was brought under control by the local fire and rescue service.

The Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service were able to contain the blaze, which meant minimal disruption to the printing services this Print firm offers to local businesses. The firm itself, which prints a range of magazines, did not wish to comment on whether or not the fire had impacted upon its productivity.

Fire safety is, of course, paramount with most businesses, particularly printing companies in Oxford whose business is built upon paper and other flammable materials. If a fire should occur, professional Print companies will have the necessary fire safety procedures in place to ensure that clients' work is protected and that printing can still take place.

Print companies in Oxford often work with local organisations to produce fire safety awareness materials such as leaflets and Posters, so these companies are well prepared in the event of an emergency like the one that happened at Bicester.

The cause of the fire at the Bicester-based printing plant is yet to be determined, but the plant is now back in operation.
