Work on new railway station in Leeds progressing on schedule

Work on the building of a brand new railway station in Leeds is progressing according to schedule, with the first pictures having been released to the public.

The White Rose Rail Station is being built in South Leeds and will be situated alongside the White Rose bus interchange, retail centre and office park. The company responsible for the construction of it is Spencer Group, which specialises in the delivery of rail infrastructure projects, and the completed facility is set to have two platforms.

Partners on the building of this station include the Department for Transport, Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Network Rail. It is intended to take the place of Cottingley Rail Station, which will shut down later this year.

Local railway stations can always rely on stationery printers in Leeds to provide them with administrative forms, timetables and other printed items needed to function smoothly.

Spencer Group’s Operations Director Joe Bennett told the Yorkshire Evening Post:

“We’ve been working closely with key stakeholders to bring the White Rose Rail Station to fruition and, as a local contractor, are pleased to play our part in helping our infrastructure in the North.”

The Mayor Tracy Brabin attended the site recently to inspect the work-in-progress, including the steel building frames being put up. It will open early next year.
