Stereophonics to play gig in Leeds

One of the most popular and enduring rock bands in the UK will be playing a concert in Leeds early next year, as part of their preparations for an arena tour later in the year.

The Welsh band Stereophonics have enjoyed a number of smash hit singles during their two decades in the limelight, including the likes of ‘Local Boy in the Photograph’ and ‘The Bartender and the Thief’. The band’s latest album is called ‘Kind’ and was recorded in less than two weeks. Fans can expect to hear songs from this album alongside classic hits during the show in Leeds.

George Drakoulias was at the helm for the recording, a producer who has worked with the likes of Primal Scream and Tom Petty during his career, although the band’s lead singer Kelly Jones acted as co-producer.

The venue for the gig will be Leeds O2 Academy and it will serve as a warm-up for the band ahead of a tour of arenas in the UK and Europe that is planned for later in 2020. The Stereophonics are set to be in Leeds on 19th January and tickets for this event have already gone on sale.
