Ian Gilthorpe is a senior partner at Square One Law. Gilthorpe explained that there had been scepticism about the opening of the Leeds office in some quarters. He told Business Live about the reasoning behind the move:
“However, we saw an opportunity to develop a leaner, more agile type of law firm and have developed a niche firm by recruiting experienced, specialist lawyers in each of our areas of property, corporate, commercial, employment and litigation.”
Gilthorpe pointed out that uncertainty was nothing new for the enterprise. Square One Law was formed in 2011 when the economy was struggling to recover from an international economic crisis.
To celebrate the anniversary of the office opening, appointments within the property department of Square One Law have been made. Kate Johnson is now a partner, while Richard Barrett and Merissa Galley are now associates.
Matt Thompson, a partner based in Leeds, has gained some experience of working with the newly appointed team. Thompson has expressed his enthusiasm for the quality of the lawyers in question.
