A new hotel could be set for construction at a site in the centre of Leeds, if the local council gives the go ahead to the proposals.
This planned hotel would be across 13 storeys and would have a total of 321 bedrooms, as well as a restaurant and bar on the ground floor. The chosen site is on Sovereign Street, which is right in the heart of Leeds, and the firm behind the project is Marrico Asset Management. A hotel operator has not yet been secured, but a report by the council states that the company is talking to a hotel chain with an international reputation.
It is expected that the completed building would have an exterior that combines beige-coloured brickwork with terracotta red. It has also been claimed that there would be a colonnade, with the frontages on the ground floor behind it and that the hotel would have two Sovereign Square entrances.
