The Guinness Partnership, which is a housing association, has purchased a site which already has the required planning permission. The site is on Hunslet Road in Leeds and those who owned the land before, secured the necessary permission for the construction of five blocks. These will range in height from six to 20 storeys and will add up to 928 flats in total.
This chosen site is close to both the South Bank locale that is presently being regenerated at a cost of £350 million and the Leeds Docks. It has been confirmed by the Guinness Partnership that more than 300 of the homes will be affordable housing.
It was able to acquire the land for this development thanks to a grant worth £224 million that it received from Home England. Brochure printing is sometimes used to showcase new homes once they have been built.
Speaking to Leeds Live, Catriona Simons from the Guinness Partnership said:
“This site, within the Leeds South Bank Regeneration and Innovation District, is a fantastic opportunity for us to create over 900 homes in a vibrant new neighbourhood in Leeds.”
No date has yet been announced for the work to begin.
