Leeds was fortunate enough to be chosen as the host for the prestigious final lap of the event this year, but it has not yet been confirmed which location will host each stage in 2020. In total, there will be eight different cities and towns hosting parts of next year’s race, with Leeds being joined by the likes of Huddersfield, Redcar, Barnsley and Halifax.
This will be the sixth time the race has taken place and it has grown to become one of the international cycling circuit’s premier tournaments. Each year, it attracts large crowds of people throughout Yorkshire to watch top professional cyclists compete for the trophy. Banner printing is sometimes used by supporters and spectators at sporting events to display their support for teams and athletes.
Speaking to Leeds Live, Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme said:
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with such a great team at Welcome to Yorkshire and I know our eight start and finish locations will put on a real show in 2020.”
The race will take place between 30th April and 3rd May, with the finish location to be announced nearer the time.
