Industrial building could be redeveloped in Leeds

An industrial structure within Leeds is likely to be transformed.

The plan is that Drapers Yard will be given a new lease of life. Around 300 jobs might be created by the regeneration scheme. The Leeds building under discussion is located in Marshall Street. Graphic design can be useful in the property sector, especially when complicated proposals need to be examined by stakeholders.

Labcorp is the firm behind the radical ideas for Drapers Yard. The innovative business would prefer to operate from one site rather than working from the two hubs it uses at the moment. The strategy has attracted support from Leeds City Council. James Lewis, the head of the local authority, told the Yorkshire Post:

“This is a hugely-exciting piece of news for Leeds, and one that will strengthen the city’s reputation as a place where cutting-edge tech and a sense of history come together to positive effect.”

Councillor Lewis explained that Labcorp can have a big impact on the lives of people thanks to its strengths in drug development and medical research.

It seems that the redevelopment should have an ecological aspect. The vision for Drapers Yard includes the construction of a green roof. In addition, the site may benefit from planting and landscaping. The hope is that biodiversity can be strengthened within the centre of Leeds.
