First artists confirmed for Leeds festival

The first acts have been announced for a 2021 music festival in Leeds, with many having been due to perform at this year’s event before it was cancelled.

Canadian punk band Billy Talent was supposed to be the headliner at the 2020 Slam Dunk Festival North in Leeds, and is now set to play at the 2021 event. The band will be joined by other artists who would have played this year, with Code Orange, Motion City Soundtrack, State Champs and While She Sleeps all having been confirmed.

In addition to managing to secure returns for several of the acts that disappointed fans lost out on seeing this year due to the pandemic, the organisers of the festival have also confirmed a number of big-name US punk bands as headliners for 2021. These include The Vandals, NOFX and Sum 41.

Slam Dunk Festival North is a key part of the live music calendar in Leeds and the 2021 event will mark its 15th anniversary. Music festivals like this are sometimes advertised in the local area through the use of traditional flyer printing.

Any tickets bought for this year’s festival will be re-useable and many more acts are still to be announced. The location for the festival will be Temple Newsam and it will take place on 29th and 30th May.
