Development planned at site in Leeds

An ambitious multimillion-pound development at a site in Leeds – one that used to be home to a swimming pool – looks set to move forward, with the news that planning consent has been given.

This project will see the site of the old International Swimming Pool at Lisbon Street transformed into a mixture of housing, leisure, retail and office space. The company behind the scheme is Lisbon Street Developments and it has been designed by DLA Architecture. At the heart of it will be two blocks of flats, one with 33 storeys and the other with 22.

In addition to that, the project will also see a student housing block comprising 24 storeys built, as well as an aparthotel, office space measuring 131,000 sq. ft, and places for leisure and retail use.

Brochure printing provided by shops based in Leeds can supply property developers with glossy colour brochures showing off their latest developments.

DLA Architecture head of design Mark Redfern told the Yorkshire Evening Post that:

“We are thrilled to secure this planning consent to enable us to deliver an inspiring new environment deserving of this critical site in Leeds city centre.”

He went on to add that the project had been designed with the aim of achieving architectural harmony, as well as for usefulness.

A date for work to start has not been announced yet.
